Engineers Forever

David-Thorpe-foreverThe new Engineers album Three Fact Fader was released on download in July of this year, and even though it does not have the iconic David Thorpe cover (his work “Forever” pictured here, while the new album art shows some sort of coloured reindeer[?]), it still contains what I believe to be one of the finest examples of innovative shoegaze and dream pop being made today.

It’s very easy to get lost in the keyboard swirls and sound collages – even in the shorter songs. Luckily, the guitar and vocal work bring you back down to earth, or in some cases drag you deeper into the song.
