Let the Rampant Consumerism Commence!

25 11 2009

Friday, the day after Thanksgiving, is commonly know as Black Friday – a term originally named by Philadelphia bus drivers in 1966 due to the heavy street traffic encountered during the holidays. And Black Friday is usually associated with door-buster sales and “the first person in the store  gets a free Xbox” sales. But with the tragic death of a Wal-Mart worker, and those two people killed at Toys R Us in California, hopefully many consumers are looking to sleep in, put on their robe and fuzzy slippers, and shop online.

If you are looking to shop online, try a web service that gives you cash back on your purchases – a little something extra for the money you are spending. I use ebates. You can get anywhere from 2 to 10 percent cash back on your purchases. Sorry for the shameless plug…Happy Thanksgiving!
